If Push had been made in a vacuum, I’d totally agree with you. Derren has made about a dozen shows like this, and every time he does one, it’s with people who have answered an all-call for volunteers. These volunteers send in tapes, and then the “best ones” (as determined by the producers) are chosen for a psychological screening. After all these highly motivated people are whittled down to a few, all are told they didn’t make the cut, and are sent home. Then, long after they have forgotten everything, the work begins.

The people who volunteered for this show saw The Experiments and Derren’s other shows, and volunteered anyway. These people aren’t victims, they are willing, adult participants. They knew what they were getting into.
