Racism is like an infection: if you ignore it, it will spread, but if you poke at it too much, it will fester. The trick is in being able to have an honest conversation in which everyone accepts that their experience isn’t the only one, and that the circumstances and feelings of those substantially injured should be the first consideration, always.
